Connective Tissue Therapy
Connective Tissue is one of the most pervasive systems within the human body, and one of the least well known! It surrounds our organs, individual muscle cells, muscles, and groups of muscles. This amazing web-like structure, when taken care of, gives us the ability to interact with and react to our environment and move freely and unrestricted. Through things like improper movement and lack of
"At least monthly, I visit Luke's welcoming office for massage and craniosacral therapy. A compassionate openness characterizes Luke's approach. movement, the collagen fibers that make up this web can become hardened
and "stuck." This can result in the connective tissue forming adhesions, aka
"knots," as well as causing muscles and tendons to stick to bones or impeding
proper organ function. Through proper pressure, these "stuck" areas can be melted and returned to their original, healthy, form. This is a deep and slow moving massage technique that works with the specific flows and patterns of the Connective Tissue. It is extremely effective for issues such as: neck and back pain, cramping and muscle spasms, frozen shoulder, sciatica, Joint pain and stiffness, headaches, whiplash, fatigue, plantar fasciitis, and more.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle-touch therapy that works with the wholeness of our being and the intrinsic forces of health within the body. We use holds at specific areas of the body in order to release tension and restrictions in tissues, dissipate the negative effects of stress, release compressions in joints, and stimulate a healing response within the nervous system that enhances our overall health, wellness, and resistance to disease. This work has resolved many different types of injuries and illnesses. Here is an excerpt from Dr. Michael Kern, author of Wisdom in the Body, an acclaimed text on Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, on some of the ways in which Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has helped his patients:
"... a patient of mine who had been hit on the head by a cricket ball experienced months of depression. When the inertia held in his parietal bone was resolved, he described feeling as if a dark cloud had been lifted from him. In another case, a five-year-old boy stopped wetting his bed when his slightly twisted sacrum started to express primary respiration motion. A twenty-eight-year-old musician's digestive problems disappeared when the restriction in his diaphragm was treated. These are just a few illustrations of a principle that is seen at work every day in the treatment rooms of craniosacral practitioners."
Craniosacral Therapy has even been found to help improve the quality of life for people suffering from diseases such as Mesothelioma. Even though it does not treat cancer directly it can help to relieve some of the symptoms and side effects of living with the disease.
